Clear Home Payment is a free educational tool. It provides calculators that estimate a monthly housing payment and the cash needed at closing from values you enter, together with guides and a glossary explaining the concepts behind those numbers.

Every calculation is described in full on the methodology page, including the assumptions each formula makes and what it cannot account for.

Clear Home Payment is not a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, loan officer, correspondent lender, real estate brokerage, insurance producer, tax advisor, accountant, or law firm. It holds no lending, insurance, or financial certification, and it is not licensed in any state to provide any of those services.

Nothing on this site is financial, tax, legal, lending, insurance, or real estate advice, and nothing here creates a professional or fiduciary relationship. The site does not issue approvals, pre-qualifications, or pre-approvals, does not determine eligibility for any loan program, and does not quote live mortgage rates.

The interest rate field is an editable example so you can see how sensitive a payment is to the rate. It is not a quote, an offer, a market average, or a prediction.

All results are estimates generated from the values you enter. They will differ from a lender’s figures, and the difference can be significant. Actual amounts depend on your credit profile, the loan program, the property, the appraisal, the tax jurisdiction and any exemptions, your insurance underwriting, HOA rules, the closing date, escrow structure, and market conditions on the day your rate is set.

You should verify every number against a Loan Estimate, a Closing Disclosure, your county appraisal district or assessor, an insurance quote for the specific property, and the HOA documents before making a financial decision. Where those documents disagree with this site, those documents are correct.

You are responsible for decisions you make. Clear Home Payment does not accept responsibility for outcomes arising from reliance on its estimates.

Content may be updated, corrected, or removed at any time without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clear Home Payment and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost savings, or lost opportunity, arising out of your use of or inability to use this site — including any decision made in reliance on an estimate it produced.

You may use this site for personal, non-commercial purposes: estimating scenarios, learning the concepts, and referencing the guides. Please do not attempt to disrupt or overload the site, probe it for vulnerabilities, scrape it at scale, or systematically republish its content as your own.

The text, guides, glossary, methodology, and design of this site are its original work. Quoting a passage with attribution and a link is welcome; wholesale reproduction is not.

Guides link to primary documentation from agencies such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, HUD, and state tax authorities. Those sites are not operated by Clear Home Payment, and it is not responsible for their content or availability.

The site is supported by advertising served by third parties. Advertisements are not endorsements, and Clear Home Payment does not vet advertised products or services. The site does not sell leads, accept lender sponsorships, or refer readers to loan officers. How advertising and analytics handle your data is covered in the privacy policy.

These terms may change as the site changes. The review date above reflects the last time they were revisited. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
