Clear.Home Payment

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 5, 2026

Clear Home Payment (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) is operated as an independent educational project. This policy explains what information the site collects, how cookies and similar technologies are used, and the choices available to you.

Who operates this site

Clear Home Payment is operated by Louis, the founder of the site. You can read more about the project on the About page and reach us using the contact details below.

Information we collect

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Calculator inputs (home price, down payment, interest rate estimate, and similar values) are not transmitted to us or stored on any server — they exist only in your browser’s memory for the current session.

If you email us using the address on the Contact page, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message (such as your email address and message content) and use it only to respond to you.

We automatically collect limited technical and usage data through Google Analytics, described below, when you consent to it.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site and its third-party vendors use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons or local storage) for the purposes described below.

When you first visit, a cookie banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising cookies). Your choice is stored on your device and applied to future visits. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the site footer.

We use Google Consent Mode to communicate your choice to Google. Until you accept, analytics and advertising cookies remain blocked by default.

Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate website traffic and usage — for example, which pages and guides are most useful — so we can improve the site. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as approximate location, device and browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. We do not use Analytics data to identify individual users or to provide mortgage approvals, lending decisions, or financial advice.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, in addition to rejecting analytics cookies in the banner on this site.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

With your consent, this site may use Google AdSense to display advertising to support free access to the calculators. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies — including the DART cookie and similar advertising identifiers — to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Other third-party ad vendors working with Google may also use cookies to serve ads on this site.

You can manage how Google personalizes ads shown to you, or opt out of personalized advertising entirely, at Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (or, for EU-based visitors, www.youronlinechoices.eu).

Your rights under the GDPR (EEA and UK visitors)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.

Where we rely on cookies for analytics or advertising, our legal basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link, which takes effect for future data collection.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA (California visitors)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion of that information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, which can include the use of advertising cookies for interest-based ads.

You can opt out of advertising cookies at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer, which also covers the interest-based advertising described above. This site also recognizes the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, where sent by your browser, as a valid opt-out request.

Children's privacy

Clear Home Payment is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention

We do not operate a server-side database of calculator inputs. Contact emails are retained only as long as needed to respond to your message and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Analytics data collected with your consent is retained according to Google’s standard Analytics retention settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
