About Clear Home Payment
Clear Home Payment is a free educational calculator website built to help home buyers understand monthly payment estimates, cash needed to close, and payment scenarios before they get too deep into a purchase decision.
Who’s behind Clear Home Payment
Louis
Founder, Clear Home Payment
Clear Home Payment was inspired by our own experience as first-time homebuyers. When my wife and I began the process of buying our first home, we had to learn everything from the ground up—from mortgage rates and property taxes to insurance, HOA fees, closing costs, and the difference between a basic mortgage estimate and the amount we would actually pay each month.
The process was exciting, but it was also confusing. Many calculators gave us part of the answer, but few explained how all the costs fit together. I created Clear Home Payment to give other buyers a clearer and more practical way to explore those numbers before making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.
Who Clear Home Payment is for
Clear Home Payment is for first-time buyers and other home shoppers who want to understand the moving parts before a lender, agent, title company, or insurance provider gives them final numbers. It provides free calculators and plain-English guides for common home-buying cost questions.
The tools are calculator-first. Users can edit the values shown on the page instead of relying on a fixed example, so the results can better reflect a property, lender estimate, insurance quote, HOA fee, or local tax assumption they want to test.
What the calculators can help estimate
The calculators let users enter their own editable assumptions for home price, down payment, interest rate estimate, loan term, property taxes, homeowners insurance, HOA dues, PMI, closing costs, income, and monthly debts. The goal is to make the moving parts visible in one place.
The site includes a standard home payment calculator, a reverse calculator for starting with a target monthly payment, Texas-focused calculator pages, and educational guides about common home-buying cost terms.
What Clear Home Payment does not do
Clear Home Payment does not provide mortgage approvals, lending decisions, live mortgage quotes, official tax estimates, insurance quotes, legal guidance, or real estate representation. The numbers shown are educational estimates based on user-entered values.
Actual costs, rates, approvals, taxes, insurance, HOA fees, closing costs, and loan terms can vary by lender, borrower profile, property, location, loan type, market conditions, and timing.
Why estimates are editable
A home payment estimate can vary because every property and loan scenario is different. That is why the site does not lock users into one rate, tax amount, insurance cost, down payment, HOA fee, PMI estimate, or closing-cost assumption.
Even two homes with the same purchase price can produce different monthly payments or cash-to-close estimates when taxes, insurance, HOA fees, or closing costs are different.
How to use the estimates responsibly
Use the calculators as a planning reference, then verify the numbers with the appropriate sources. Lenders can provide loan estimates and rate information. County appraisal districts and local tax offices can help with property tax details. Insurance providers can quote coverage. HOA documents can confirm dues, assessments, and rules.
Buyers should also talk with qualified real estate, lending, tax, legal, and insurance professionals for guidance specific to their situation.
